Noah Foundation Ltd as a non-profit making organization in Bangladesh working for enhancing quality maritime education and serving community through building professional excellence.
At the brake of new millennium and new century a group of highly motivated experienced professional mariners willing to contribute for the nation established Noah Foundation Ltd. registered under Section 29 of Companies Act 1994 at the Register of Joint Stock of Companies Dhaka.
NFL an effort of Bangladeshi mariners named after the Prophet Nooh (Ahs), who was the ever first ship owner, ship builder and ship master in the known history of the world, as mentioned in the Holy Quran and in the Holy Bible.
NFL running a maritime training institute named MIST (Maritime Institute of Science & Technology) with approval of from Ministry of Shipping since 2001.
MIST has enabled Bangladesh to overcome the challenge of implementation of IMO convention STCW’95 and bringing the nation’s name on IMO white list Establishment and activities of MIST has always been appreciated by entire maritime community in Bangladesh and abroad, which was also covered by national and international daily magazines and SEAWAYS of Nautical Institute.
MIST enjoys advisory support of a committee consisting of very senior maritime professionals.
NFL aspires to further establish MAST (Maritime Academy of Science & Technology) and upgrade MAST to a full maritime university MUST (Maritime University of Science & Technology).
Recognizing the imperative of covering population problem into a Bank of skilled human resource by providing international standard professional technical training.
In view existing crisis of qualified seafarers under STCW`95 convention of IMO to man the foreign going vessels in world market and our potential prospect in marine industry.
Remembering our professional expertise in quality maritime education. Reminding capability of NFL to run MIST is countries first ISO 9000:2001 certified training institute, accredited by French Classification Society Bureau Veritas and UKAS of United Kingdom.
Recalling MIST following IMO syllabus and recognized by many maritime administration all over the world. Introduced cadet training program at MIST since 2007.
For practical training and demonstration classes. In addition to MCA (UK) & USCG (USA) approved Simulators, CBT, Multimedia Projectors, OHP, Navigational, Engineering & Seamanship Equipments MIST has resource sharing arrangements with :
- Bangladesh Inland Water Transport.
- National Fire Training Institute & Director General of Fire Service & Civil Defense.
- BSC Marine workshop.
- Marine Academy & National Maritime Institute.
- and few other organizations.
